_The Spring Festival celebrations have begun across China since January 29. One of the world's most famous New Year festivals is the Chinese Spring Festival, which begins on New Year's Eve and lasts for fifteen days.
To welcome the Spring Festival, Chinese people clean their homes and yards and hang red posters with poetic verses on their entrance doors. Lunar New Year pictures are hung on the walls and illuminated with red lanterns. It is also a time for reunions with relatives to share the joy of the festival.
On the evening of the Spring Festival, Chinese firecrackers and fireworks are set off, and children are given money as New Year's luck. Wearing new clothes and sending Lunar New Year greetings to each other, playing drums and bells, as well as various activities such as dragon and lion dances are part of their Spring Festival celebrations.
More than 4,000 years ago, when Shun ascended the throne, he led his ministers to worship heaven and earth. That day is considered the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar, and this is where the Lunar New Year originated. After China adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1911, the Lunar New Year was renamed the Spring Festival. The day is a public holiday in China.
Six films have been released in China for the festival. Statistics show that China's daily box office on Wednesday achieved a record 1.8 billion yuan (about 249 million US dollars). This year, more people will be able to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the festival than ever before. In addition, for the first time, special broadcasts have been made for viewers with visual and hearing impairments.
Chinese museums and cultural organizations are also organizing various entertainment and educational events.
