Nirmala Sitharaman is an economist and politician from India. She was born on August 18 of 1959 in Madurai, a major city in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. She became the Cabinet Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of India in 2019 and is the first full-time female finance minister of India. Nirmala is the 41th in the Forbe's 'Power Women 2020' list.

Sitharaman joined 'Bharatiya Janata Party' in 2008 and was appointed as a National Executive. In 2010 she elected as BJP's Spokesperson. Nirmala became the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs as the Minister of State with independent charge in 2014 and in 2017 she became the Minister of Defence.

Nirmala went to 'Seethalakshmi Ramaswamy College' in Tiruchirappalli of Tamil Nadu. She completed masters in economics from 'Jawaharlal Nehru University' of New Delhi in India. She is a PhD in Indo-European textile trades.
