Olivier Duhamel is a former professior and political scientist from France. He was born on May 2 of 1950 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a commune in the department of Hauts-de-Seine in France.
Mr. Olivier started his career in higher education at the University of Besançon in 1981. After Three years, he joined the Parisian universities of Paris-Nanterre then that of Panthéon-Sorbonne. In 1986, the university professor joined the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris. He taught the fundamental course in Political Institutions, until 2010. In 2016, he was elected President of the National Foundation for Political Science. In 2017, he created the Sciences Po prize for political photography.
Following father's footsteps he decided to get involved in politics and in 1983, he acceded to the post of adviser to the President of the Constitutional Council, which he held until 1995. He was a political columnist on France Culture until 2010.

Mr. Olivier was born to Jacques Duhamel and Colette Rousselot. Jacques Duhamel was a French resistance fighter and politician and was a Minister. Olivier has two brothers, Stéphane and Gilles.
Works
Dhuamel was elected MEP, under the label of the Socialist Party, between 1997 and 2004. He became a lawyer at the Paris bar in 2010 and subsequently, he worked with the law firm Veil Jourde, specializing in business law .
Mr. Oliver co-hosted the program 'Mediapolis with Olivier Duhamel and Catherine Nay' with Michel Field for the radio network 'Europe 1' since 2007. He also has participated in numerous documentaries for the 'France 5', IPTV channel in France, The great battles of the Republic, Business stories or Democracy, Democracies.
Oliver co-directs with Philippe Ardant the review Pouvoirs at éditions du Seuil. Since 2006, he has also directed the A savoir collection for Dalloz editions.
He wrote a numerous includes 'Le Quinquennat' (1980), 'At the polls, citizens!' (1993), 'Political power in France' (2003), 'Constitutional law and political institutions' (2009), 'Les primaries pour les nuls' (2016). In 2019 he dedicated a novel to his parents.
Education
Mr. Dhumel Passed the competitive examination for public law. He copmpleted doctorate in public law which he obtained at the University of Paris-Nanterre in 1979 and devoted his thesis to La Gauche et la Vè République.
